Same as with my sports writing, if you're looking to find more work you can also hit me up from the contact page. Or you can peruse my ELi writer page at your leisure.
Following the withdrawal of several serious criminal charges for a supposed sexual assault that ELPD stopped, we received a tip from the accused's lawyer that the officer in question had been reprimanded and that a member of council was demanding more accountability. Here is the corresponding report.
In a follow-up piece to the above story, I filed records requests with the county prosecutor and ELPD for emails and communications regarding how an ultimately innocent man sat in jail for weeks while there was no real evidence supporting the charges he faced.
A story near and dear to me as one of the houses that was flooded was previously the home of my paternal grandparents prior to their deaths. I still knew the neighbors and they were gracious in filling me in about their Sisyphean efforts for accountability and solutions.

Following MSU's decision to require that sophomores live on campus (with a few key exceptions), I began reporting on the change and what it would do around the city. What resulted was this story, as a part of a small series we referred to as "sophomores on."
I also did some occasional video work for ELi, including producing this brief video package of a city event designed to welcome back MSU students after a year of off-campus life by virtue of the pandemic.
